But when you feel a cold coming on, you can seek to sweat it out. 

A hot bath or dry sauna could be beneficial to begin the sweating process.

A good at home remedy is to lightly boil for five minutes the following: garlic, ginger, green onion, basil, mustard, or cinnamon. Drink the tea; go to bed and prepare to sweat!
